What is PitCrew
PitCrew is a personal assistant for tracking your car maintenance. You store information about your vehicles, mileage, fuel fill-ups, service history, and receive reminders for scheduled maintenance.
What data we collect
We collect only the data you enter into the app yourself, and technical data required for its operation:
Account data
- Email address
- Name provided during registration or retrieved from your Google account
- Profile photo URL (only if you signed in with Google)
Vehicle data
- Make, model, year, license plate, VIN, technical specifications
- Mileage and its updates over time
- Car photos you add
History and log
- Fuel and charging records (liters, kWh, cost, station)
- Service records (work performed, mileage, cost, location, notes)
- Text notes about your car
- Maintenance plan generated based on your car’s specifications
Technical data
- Device push token (for sending reminders)
- Notification settings (reminder time, enabled/disabled)
- Device timezone
- Anonymous crash reports (anonymous device identifier, Android version, error call stack)
What permissions the app uses and why
- Camera — to photograph your car or take a screenshot when submitting a support request via feedback.
- Read images (Android 13+) / External storage (Android 12 and below) — to allow selecting a photo from the gallery instead of the camera.
- Notifications (Android 13+) — to display maintenance reminders.
Where data is sent
All data is stored in Google cloud services. We do not sell your data to third parties and do not use it for advertising.
Use of AI
To generate the maintenance plan, we send only your car’s technical specifications (make, model, year, fuel type, transmission, mileage) to the OpenAI API. Personal data (email, name, VIN, license plate) is not sent to OpenAI.
Storage and deletion
- Data is stored while the account is active.
- You can request account deletion in Profile → Delete account. After confirmation, your record is marked for deletion and all associated data is permanently removed within 24 hours.
- You can request data deletion by emailing [email protected].
Children
The app is not intended for children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
For significant changes, we will update the date at the top of this document and, if the changes affect data processing, notify you through the app.
